ABOUT

ENVIRONMENTAL TESTING

Capital Testing offers two large-scale environmental chambers capable of testing products in challenging or even extreme temperature and humidity conditions. From hardwood plywood panels, to kitchen cabinets, to wood flooring, environmental chamber testing is employed by manufacturers to demonstrate their commitment to quality and performance in a range of simulated environments. This testing – especially when paired with one of our ISO/IEC 17065-accredited certification programs – provides customers with the confidence they need to make decisions at the store and online.

The team at Capital Testing will help you develop the perfect testing program catered to your product.  Whether you want to test some individual pieces of your product, build out a floor, or assemble a room, Capital Testing has you covered.  Let us know the conditions you want to achieve and the qualities that you would like to have measured and we will do our best to accommodate your requests.

Don't Know Where to Start? Try These Common Conditions:

Humid Conditions:  90°F and 80%RH (~15  %EMC)

Arid Conditions:       90°F and 22%RH (~4.7 %EMC)

Duration:                    2 weeks in “humid” and 2 weeks in “arid” conditions

What Qualities are Measured During Variable Environmental Chamber Testing?

Environmental chamber testing is customizable so it is up to the client to decide which qualities should be measured or observed for each test.

Some commonly measured/observed qualities include:

  • Dimensional Changes (width, length, cupping, bowing, crook)
  • Moisture Content
  • Aesthetic Changes (peeling, cracking/checking, finish damage)
